Rimas and her sister Logain are two orphaned girls living in Lebanon with their mother. Their father was killed in Syria in front of their eyes. The mother had no choice; she fled to Lebanon with her two daughters to seek safety for them. The war has left a deep impact on the mental health of the girls, especially after seeing their father’s death. The mother is left alone in Lebanon without being supported by anyone. She is struggling to keep her daughters alive. Logain, who is 3 years old, needs to undergo a heart surgery, it will cost $6,000, but they don’t have this money to get the surgery done. They can barely get food and some basic needs. Both girls need psychosocial support to forget what they have experienced during war in Syria.
“I need support because I have no one to support me. I’ve registered in some organizations here in Lebanon to sponsor my daughters otherwise they will starve to death. I depend on the money I get from sponsorship to keep us alive”. The mother said.
Islamic Relief has been sponsoring Rimas and Logain since 10 months. This sponsorship has eased the suffering of this family. The mother uses their sponsorship money to buy food and clothes for them and she spends the money from other organizations on the house rent which costs her $250 per month.
“I want to thank Islamic Relief and everyone who is assisting my family. Please keep supporting us because if you don’t we will suffer a lot and our life will be harder”. The mother said.
